n Positive attitude and integrity
n Communication skills: able to discuss project competently with carpentry team, homeowners and subcontractors
n Able to lead a crew, be organized, and manage time well to produce projects in a timely fashion
n Broad range of skills needed: 8 years prior residential carpentry experience in both framing and finish work, and at least 3 years of leadership experience
n Valid drivers license and own vehicle with tools
n Able to pass background check and drug screening

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
n Possess working knowledge of how homes are built including homes of various styles and eras
n Working knowledge of building code
n General knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, electrical work and the codes that apply to these
n Common sense understanding of residential construction structural engineering
n Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
n Working knowledge of construction techniques and sequences
n Highly skilled in executing all kinds of carpentry and construction tasks from rough to finish
n Knowledge of carpentry materials and their appropriate uses
n Ability to supervise and teach other company carpenters and laborers
n Ability to direct and cooperate with subcontractors
n Ability to plan for stages of construction work including, material, tools, supplies, and labor
n Ability to communicate effectively with customers, subcontractors and other company personnel
Physical Requirements for Carpenters:
n Be capable of lifting objects up to a hundred pounds regularly, and even slightly heavier loads on occasion.
n Be able to carry heavy loads of shingles or other materials up a ladder, to be set on a roof or upper floor deck.
n Be able to handle repetitive motion such as hammering or sawing, and be able to do heavy physical labor, including handling a 75 to 90 lb. jack hammer (on occasion), digging trenches, and performing demolition tasks with pry bars and such.
n Be able squat or kneel as needed
n Be capable of working outside in weather conditions from 90+ degrees down to 15+/- degrees Fahrenheit.
n Be generally physically strong, fit, and without known back, joint or knee problems.
